Housed in a renovated building, which the management claim was Salzburg’s first inn 650 years ago, the Arthotel Blaue Gans boasts an enticing blend of tradition and modernity. The art-orientated theme works well throughout and the 40 guestrooms are stylish and comfortable, even if they do vary somewhat in size due to the age of the building. Every room is equipped with flat screen TV, cable channels, work desk and WIFI. Situated in the cellar, the hotel’s restaurant has a wonderfully warm historical atmosphere, thanks to its old wood panelling and murals. It serves regional and Continental cuisine. In sharp contrast, the bar is ultra-modern and is stocked with a good range of drinks and cocktails. There’s also an outdoor area with plants and decking, where guests can dine in fine weather.
