Location was ok, within reasonable walking distance of the main sites and some decent bars and restaurants. Service in the hotel was non-existence - and we twice requested extra pillows, which never arrived, so we gave up on that! Also rather expensive for what it was.
Top Tip
Carpe Diem bar restaurant is worth a visit and all the little bars and restaurants are lovely.

The absence of a bar for a quiet drink is a downside.One English speaking channel on the TV( out of 37 channels) could be improved at no extra cost. Apart from the above we found it an excellent hotel
Top Tip
Stick to the Right Bank for restaurants, the old town is a rip off.
Climb the Kappuchinberg Hill behind the Hotel, its free, has good paths and a spectacular view of the Old Town

Though well located, there was a distinct lack of facilities such as tea making, bar ,restaurant etc.
Top Tip
Local maps and guides quite good.Recommended restaurants were fine.
So many things to see and do that it is impossible not to enjoy the experience.

I would endorse other comments that the room was so hot and stuffy even with the windows open. Breakfast was excellent. Internet facilties advertised were poor as the keyboard didn't work properly.
Top Tip
You can easily get a local bus out to the Lake District despite the receptionist telling you otherwise!

Our rooms were very noisy, despite specifically requesting quiet rooms. No bath, only shower in very small bathroom - this wasn't mentioned in hotel details.
Top Tip
Go to Eulenspeigel restaurant - fantastic food, lovely staff. Take the bus (number 25) to Untersberg and take the cable car to the top of the mountain. Worth buying a Salzberg card(for travel and entry fees into main attractions) if you're there more than a couple of days.

Very nice hotel as it is so close to the centre of the city. All the staff from the receptionists to those at breakfast were very helpful and attentive, particularly with children. The decoration in the room did look a little 'tired' but this was a minor issue.
