Pretty much the ideal small European luxury hotel, the Goldener Hirsch offers a prestigious atmosphere as soon as you enter it, without ever feeling stuffy or formal. Though not huge, the rooms are beautifully appointed in a traditional style and the staff are impeccably helpful. A gem of a hotel.
Historical and luxurious, the Goldener Hirsch is a charming hotel with 69 guestrooms spread over 5 floors. Guests here are made to feel part of the family and can enjoy the feeling of being in a stately home rather than a hotel. Antiques personally chosen and collected by Countess Walderdorff over a number of years decorate every corner of the hotel.
Bedrooms are unique; those who are used to standard designed and laid out hotel rooms will have a new experience. The mixture of antique chests and wardrobes and state of the art equipment and amenities is perfect. Décor changes from room to room, bathrooms are clean, spacious and modern.
The hotel restaurant has an excellent reputation and the adjoining tavern is a great place to mix with locals as well as other hotel guests. Breakfast is pricey in this hotel, but there are plenty of alternatives nearby for those trying to save a bit of money.
