Nicely located for train station but not for anything else - about 20 mins walk to the old town and anything with character. The room we had was in an apartment building across the street from the hotel (they seem to have acquired a floor of the building) - very weird, though the room was functional and all we needed for 1 night. The sports bar beneath us was quiet despite our misgivings.
Top Tip
There is a cineplex about 2 minutes' walk away with a couple of restaurants. Otherwise would suggest you head more towards the old town and the river.

Great Hotel, about a 15 min easy and lovely walk to the old town, brilliant staff and if you eat in the restaurant, the garlic soup is one of the best I have ever tasted. Sound of Music on a permanent loop is a bonus.
Top Tip
We really enjoyed the sound of music tour - try and get peter as your tour guide - he is fab. Winter is a lovely time to go to salzburg, xmas markets, ice rink and great gluwein and strudel! Just be aware that some of the tourist attractions eg the cable car are not open in november.

Location was ideal for us just passing through Salzburg with one overnight near to transport links. Not necessarily ideal for an extended stay.

Friendly staff even the owner came around at breakfast table and gave each guest a personal greeting - nice touch. My wife also got a chocolate as it was mother's day - again nice touch.
Top Tip
Excellant place to stay - near Railway/Bus Station so easy connections by Public Transport. It is about a 15 minute walk to the Mirabell - but if you have a bus or Salzburg Pass - use the bus. We also went to Werfen on the Train - highly recommend it - spectacular scenary.

Shower was hopeless!! - even at "hotest" on dial temperature was tepid and water flow so moderated at to make it difficult to wash.
Was a shame because otherwise accommodation very comfortable & welcoming.

The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms are nice and the value for money is good.
Top Tip
Head for the river and cross one of the many bridges for the best areas to see in the city. The castle is a must and good value for money.
