The staff were exceptionally welcoming, friendly and helpful. The room was lvely and clean, everything is well cared for throghout. The breakfast room is beautiful and the food amazing. The evening restaraunt is delicious and top quality. Nothing was ever too much trouble. We spent our honeymoon here and I would not have changed anything at all. A lovely location close to everything. Couldnt have wished for more. FANTASTIC!

Definately visit Hlebrun Gardens and get the bus to St. Gilgen and go on the cable car there, the views are the best. We have been to many of the surrrounding locations and St Gilgen is the most beautiful.Avoid teh ice caves, its a 40 minute treck (if you are fit) and 1400 steps, there are far more places of beauty to try.

This was a trip arranged for my wife's 60th birthday - so the pressure was on for everything to go right. And it did! I honestly cannot think of one negative comment to make about the Bristol. Considering its 5-star status, the cost was very reasonable - extending to the restaurant and wine list. The staff were superb - attentive but not intrusive - and very friendly. A brilliant weekend!

Been said before, but try the "Sound of Music" coach trip. Sounds awful, but actually an entertaining few hours! Plus we booked for the Mozart dinner concert at St Peter's Keller restaurant - good food and just the right amount of music and opera. Taking the funicular railway to the fortress is worth doing. Terrace restaurant on the roof of the Hotel Stein, 5 mins from the Bristol, offers good views and a varied menu. Great on a sunny day.

Excellent hotel & very helpful, charming staff. My only reservation would be the lack of dressing gown in bathroom - something I regard as standard in any 5* hotel I stay in.

fantastic service. even though is not in the old town, is still close enough (5 in walk if that) to the sights of the aldstadt. lovely breakfast. beautiful period furnishings.

recommend the panorama tours. especially sound of music- not cheesy at all and you get to see lots of local natural beauty -countryside, lake district, mountains etc.
