A very warm welcome, superb cleanliness, helpful, homley, polite staff. Slippery (so clean!) bath/shower, without grip handles so not suitable for limited mobility. Attractive, basic tradtional decor in bedroom, scrubbed wood floor & 'cot' beds. Genrous & varied buffet breakfast with excellent sevice from Andre. No hot drink facilites in room, which is a shame. Attached 'Italian' restaurant quite good value. Excellent location for sight-seeing.

From the airport take the No. 2 bus...ask for Salzburg central & the driver will tell you when to get off.....cross over the road to the N.1 stop & jump on this, which takes you there (only a couple of euros). 15 minute walk to hotel.
Go to Unterbergen mountain, St. Peter's, the abbey & castle (what views!).........apparently the S of M tours are good & you see the lakes...we regret not going. Mozart's museum captures the man but is not that comprehensive. Lovely Haus de Natur.
K&K bistro is good...the restaurant is more upmarket. Check out opening times as one or two places were closed for 'special events' so disappointing. There is enough to do for several weeks.......get a 'card' to enjoy cheaper rates. Good for Christmas decorations & linen & cakes!!! We hope you enjoy it as much as we did. We will definitely return. Excuse typing but just returned without sleep!!

The Hohensalzburg fortress is definitely worth walking to for the amazing views. The Trattoria Domani attached to the hotel is reasonably priced and the tagliatelli is recommended.

Very quaint hotel with an old fashioned feel. Staff very welcoming and helpful. Breakfast excellent with wide choice, not just continental.

Visit the Augustine Brewery (not open until 15.00)about 15-20mins walk from hotel. But just to walk the old town with its narrow streets is so interesting. Everything is so compact. We had a very good meal in the Zipfer Bierhaus and Sternbrau. In fact everywhere we went was very good.

Ideal hotel located in the centre of the old town so great for sight seeing and transport. Staff friendly and helpful with very good English. Breakfast buffet plentiful and excellent food. Restaurant in hotel sells relatively simple but good food - mainly Italian.

Walk around the city - so many beautiful buildings.Local train to silent night chapel in Oberndorf was a highlight, as was the cable car up the Untersberg - take 25 bus.

Traditional Austrian Hotel well located in the old town. Pleasant but old fashioned room and facilities. Helpful staff.

Salzburg is a beautiful city and well worth the visit (we stayed 3 days). Most of our time was spent wandering round the historic sights and enjoying the bars and restuarants.
